Proponents of the Industrialization listed among its benefits, more leisure time for men and women (picnic anybody?)
Yet the labor force ended up getting more and more women out of the homes, onto the factory floor and other work places.
This makes both men and women press for time.
A new study found women unhappy and with a lot of unmet expectations

There exists an opportunity for those who can come up with services that help women manage their time and
personal affairs better. Sort of personal concierge.
Back in the days of the two WW’s, we saw documentary footage of female phone operators switching each call manually. It’s true that softswitch technology helps automate digital voice transmission and eliminate a lot of those menial jobs. But women have been out of their homes ever since, into all sorts of jobs, including Secretary of State
(Albright, Rice, and Clinton).
The latter is probably employing an army of personal aids since she is on a world Safari tour.
Other women, like the two Current TV journalists who just got released by the N Koreans, are just glad to get home.
(their counterpart, Daniel of the NYT, wasn’t that lucky. He was killed instead of being released).
Then there were three women killed in that women-hater shooting in Pittsburgh. There were just trying to release some stress via aerobic exercise, when this guy sprayed bullets at them (in an apparent attempt to release hatred and eject himself from existence).
I have two daughters, and each of them grow up with a different mother. So there are noticeably some differences in their personalities: one is more hyper-active and expressive than the other. Nevertheless, I know they will grow up to be fine contributors to this world. And I know they will shop online more than my generation.Maybe they will drive all-electric cars. Certainly they play more games online and watch a variety of TV and read e books. Biotechnology will enable them to live much longer than I do.
They won’t think in terms of women lib or anything like that. It’s a given for them.
And I know they will be globe trotters (it’s in the DNA). And hopefully, doing some good work.
The question is, will I be able to teach them, that the best you can get out of life, is an optimal sense of satisfaction, derived from time well invested in learning, and concentrating on others instead of yourselves. Because personal need are endless. That’s why the more you have, the more you want. It’s the paradox of expectations. 3,000 pairs of shoes.
She wants more, more, more.
